In my collection of favorite movie scenes here on YouTube, this one is somewhat unique. Elvis plays Navy "frogman" Ted Jackson, who is about to be discharged from the service. On one of his last dives, Ted discovers a treasure chest on a sunken ship while he is about to deactivate a sea mine. This scene is in fact pretty thrilling for an Elvis movies. Actually this might be Elvis' most "adventurous" film. There is of course enough room for some songs and girls in bikinis but in the end it's really about winning the race for the sunken treasure. Elvis' last film produced by legendary Hollywood producer Hal B. Wallis and #50 on Variety magazine's list for the year 1967. Variety wrote in their review, "Elvis looks great and ageless". The Los Angeles Herald-Examiner called Elvis "a darn good actor". The film was directed by Emmy Award winner John Rich. The soundtrack was the last EP released by Elvis and although not really bad (except for "Yoga Is As Yoga Does") it was one of his least successful releases ever.
